"Thanks Googlers for all of your super innovative work. You have changed the world. "Organize the world's information..." indeed, and so, so much more."
-Greg Bogdan - Sep 23, 2009
If only you knew how far Google is willing to go to organize our information. Have you read every TOS you agree to when you try a Google Service? Each service has about 3-5 different agreements linked within it. If you notice, for example Gmail NEVER is deleted. Just because you delete it, doesn't mean it goes away.
Google organizes all data in huge matrix databases. There are thousands upon thousands of tables of data, and every time your send a message to your friend telling him your going to meet up with him, Google stores all of this data.
Now I would say that the biggest, best, and most innovative search engine company in the world could quite easily write algorithms to compile data on quite a lot of your life. With tons of new features being added all of the time, on the business model of "The best product for free". Big brother...oh I mean Google is now doing their part in the phone market, and while there will always be those loyal Blackberry and Iphone fans, Google will offer the best phone, the best os, the best aps and short of the phone and service it self, its all free.
I think thats the main thing we have to look at above all else. "Free"
They say nothing in life is free.
And it wouldn't make much sense for a company to exist soley for the purpose of making free things for people. Granted they do have ads, but that doesn't account for add-less products...Like Sidewiki or "Big Brother - Premium Surveillance Package"...Oh, I mean Google Maps (Because MapQuest's maps didn't show your into peoples living rooms).
What about Google Health. How could that possibly be an effective way to spend their time and money. They aren't selling it. It doesn't have ads. Well, lets see...what does Google like above all else? Information. Information to be stored in their database to be picked apart over and over by thousands of different programs with millions of algorithms, resulting in Google in control of a lot of information.
Is this wrong or illegal? No. Google has never forced you to download anything of theirs or use any of their products without first requiring that you agree to a TOS.
What is the end to their persuit of information?
Maybe they use their ads to persuade an election to sway the laws of monopilisation in their favor?
Maybe the government takes control. Maybe the government has control? They should right? Patriot Act and so fourth. Well the government has already made stipulations that mandate Google, among various other companies use their information to monitor people's chatter for suspicious activities.
But you know Google. This citizen survallience program will only record terrorist activities I'm sure.
With the internet dominated, the phone market on the way, likely to be followed by television...well, you get the picture.
